2013 Charity Festival Gala Dinner
The 2013 Gala Dinner to celebrate the conclusion of the Fund Raising efforts of the Freemasons of Monmouthshire for the 2013 Charity Festival will be held on Friday 27th September, 2013.
I list below items of information regarding the event, the venue and booking details which I ask you to pass on to your members,
Members of the Province who have or will have qualified as Stewards of the Festival are invited, together with wives/partners to submit applications to attend.
The venue will be the prestigious Celtic Manor Resort Hotel, Newport.
The cost of the Dinner will be £65.00 per person and will include a three course menu and glass of wine. Additional wine may be purchased at the Bar.
Dress code for the evening will be Black Tie i.e. Dinner Suits (white or cream jackets should not be worn) and black bow tie. The Province of Monmouthshire Festival Breast Jewel for the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys will be worn. I am sure our Ladies will not wish or need to be advised on dress code. They always enhance our events with grace and charm.
The Dining Room will be arranged with round tables of 10.
Members may wish to book individually, by group or by Lodge table.
Brethren and their Partners who particularly wish to be seated with others must book together to ensure grouping. Where no preference is made the table will be allocated at the time of booking. Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate member’s wishes this cannot be guaranteed. A booking form is enclosed which may be copied. Please be aware that there are insufficient seats available to accommodate all those who have already qualified as Stewards of the Festival, so bookings will be on a strictly first come first served basis.
The sequence of events for the evening will be:-
6.45 p.m. Pre-Dinner Reception - Pay Bar
7.30 p.m. Commence entry into Dinner
7.40 p.m. Grace
7.45 p.m. Dinner
Declaration of Total Raised & Presentation of the Charity Cheque
It is anticipated that the official proceedings will be completed by approximately 11.30 p.m. and for those who wish the Bars will be available for drinks until 12.30 a.m.
During the course of the evening we will be entertained by the much acclaimed and extremely successful
‘Only Boys Aloud’ Choir. In addition there will be other musical contributions.
The menu for the Dinner will be
Country Duck Terrine
Sourdough crouton and peach chutney
Slow roasted sirloin of beef and confit shin beef
With roast potatoes, braised red cabbage and roasted shallots.
Merlyn crème brulee, chocolate tart and strawberry sorbet
Coffee with petits fours
The menu will be for all attending. However exceptions can be requested for dietary reasons but these must be notified in writing when the booking is made. Cheques must accompany the application, made payable to the Monmouthshire Provincial Grand Charity – 2004.
All applications should be forwarded to Worshipful Brother Vernon Edwards, Provincial Grand Charity Steward, 80, Graig Park Circle, Newport, South Wales. NP20 6HF by 30th June, 2013.
Any part payments agreed must be followed up with full payment by 1st September, 2013.
The Province will be committed to pay for the numbers booked as at 30th June, 2013. Therefore any agreed part payments which are not followed up with the balance by 1st September, 2013 will not be refunded.

Single Occupancy £99.91 + VAT for Bed & Breakfast
Double occupancy £113.53 + VAT for Bed & Breakfast
To avail yourself of this offer please reserve your room with the Hotel Direct Booking by calling 01633 410262 requesting Reservations, making reference to the date of 27th September, 2013 and attending the Monmouthshire Masonic Charity Dinner. I understand rooms will be available from 4.00 p.m. Please have details of your Debit or Credit Card Number available when booking. This will be logged into the hotel system, however the ensuing charges will not be debited to your account until the day of departure. Rooms available at this rate will be on a first come first served basis.
Outside Car Parking at the Hotel is free, however if you wish to use the covered, underground facilities a charge is payable after a period of 4 hours, according to the table below:-

I am confident that with all our collective efforts we will have a result that will make us all proud to be Monmouthshire Freemasons.
